Brett Broadway
Goalie / General Manager

The first inductee to the Raiders Hall of Fame is a no-brainer. Brett Broadway was selected by the Raiders with the 14th overall pick in the season 25 SMJHL draft. The Raiders were extremely lucky to land the goaltender, he was in consideration for the club's first pick before the team ultimately went with Conall Macleod. Broadway was the teams starting goaltender from day one of the season. The American goalkeeper back-stopped the Raiders to a winning record in the teams first season in the SMJHL. The Raiders would go on to upset the St. Louis Scarecrows before losing a heartbreaker in overtime of game 7 vs. the Montreal Impact, narrowly missing out on a finals birth. Broadway came back determined to win a championship and the Raiders would raise the cup in just their second season in the league. Broadway went 21-10-4 during the regular season, before going 12-4 with two shutouts during the playoffs. Broadway would come back for a third season with the Raiders and continued his strong play. Toast would end up becoming the Raiders Co-GM after season 26 and was a great representative for the organization during his 3 seasons in the role.

Congratulations Toast !

Taystee Poussey

Center

When word broke that Taystee Poussey & Ignant Ogorodnikov were refusing to report to the St. Louis Scarecrows following being drafted by the club, The Raiders acted quickly and acquired the duo for a 1st round pick in the following draft. Poussey brought a unique skillset to the team that other teams had a hard time matching up against. Poussey is a power forward who makes her opponents lives hell. Poussey played primarily a defensive role in her rookie season finishing with 84 hits and winning over 53% of her face-offs. Taystee took her offensive game to another level in her second season, finishing with 16 goals and 28 assists while continuing her strong play in all other areas. She deserved to be in consideration for the Most Valuable Player award in a season in which her team ultimately won the championship. Poussey would spend four full seasons with the Raiders and served as the teams Captain for her final two.

Congratulations Jaymay !

Clayton Fuller
Defenseman

Acquired just before the start of season 25, Clayton Fuller was hands down the organizations best defenseman for the three seasons he spent with the Raiders. Fuller put up 30 points in his rookie season. Like many of the original Raiders, Fuller improved dramatically in season 26, blossoming into one of the premier defenseman in the SMJHL. Fuller registered 41 points in his second season. Fuller would match his total of 41 points in his third season with Halifax. Fuller was named the Raiders top defenseman in each of the organizations first 3 seasons, the award is known as the Fuller Trophy.

Congratulations Swimbizzilin !

Baelor Swift
General Manager

One of the original General Managers in Halifax, Baelor helped lay the groundwork for the franchise, contributing a lot during the teams first couple of seasons. Hired as GM about a month after he joined the site, I had no idea who this guy was but it soon became clear that he was the best candidate for the job. Baelor provided great scouting before the teams first ever draft and was instrumental with assembling the teams original roster. He was very active and helped make Halifax a fun place to be, keeping our players interested, many who were new to sim leagues. It's to bad that Lord Pretty Flacko never got to play for the Raiders, but that didn't stop Baelor from doing whatever he could to help build the organization.

Congratulations Baelor Swift!

Felix Herzog
Right Wing

The Raiders traded for the first overall pick just before the Season 28 SMJHL draft to assure that they were able to select Herzog. The SHL's first ever Swiss born star did not disappoint in his two seasons with Halifax. Herzog put up 38 points in his rookie season, immediately establishing himself as a dominant offensive player. Herzog's sophomore season with the Raiders would be even more impressive, Felix led the team in scoring with 23 goals and 45 points. Herzog was exceptional in all areas on the ice and won the Brandon Holmes trophy as the league's top two-way forward.

Congratulations Wasty !

Colin Banning
Defenseman/General Manager

Colin Banning is without a doubt one of the best defenseman in Halifax Raiders history. The highlight of Colin's career with the Raiders on the ice has to be the S30 Four Star Cup Playoffs. The captain of the squad, Banning was phenomenal throughout the post-season. Never a dominant scorer, Banning transformed his game for the Raiders playoff run. The Winnipeg native led the team in hits as well, Colin made an impact every second of every shift. During a season that saw more rookies on the Raiders than any other season before, Colin was a great role model for the teams players and was a huge reason that a number of players progressed as much as they did while with the Raiders. Colin was also a great person to have working in a management position. Banning is very analytical and was a great asset for the organization. Colin had elite scouting ability and the ability to make sure the best possible line-up was on the ice, mainly due to the time he put in to league wide scouting. This one was a no brainer!

Congratulations BANNING !

Richard C. Hocolate
Goaltender

Richard C. Hocolate spent 4 seasons with Halifax and was a remarkable goaltender for the team during his Raiders career. Hocolate has played in more games than any other Raiders goaltender and leads the franchise in a number of different categories. Dick Chocolate registered 6 shutouts in season 29 and put up 5 shutouts in season 31 while splitting time with another great Raiders goaltender, Georgette Pel. Hocolate's willingness to give up his own playing time speaks volumes on how much of a team player he was. Dick was always on board with whatever was best to help the team. Hocolate backstopped the Raiders to a championship during season 30. Originally brought on board the ship as a free agent, at a time when the Raiders were struggling to find a capable goaltender, The Raiders could have never imagined that Hocolate would solidify the position for the next 4 seasons. Hocolate did just that and was a key reason for the Raiders success between season 28 & season 31

Congratulations Your Mothers Favorite Goalie !

Reed Laing
Right Wing

Perhaps the most dominating scorer in Raiders history, Reed Laing was a force for the Raiders during her career with the Raiders and pretty much re-wrote the teams record book in her final season in Halifax. Laing was unstoppable during season 32. Laing set a modern day SMJHL record with 67 points and set a Raiders team record with 31 goals. Laing led the Raiders with 12 goals and was the teams leading scorer with 21 points during the season 30 playoff run. Both totals are playoff records for a Raider. The native of London, Ontario, Laing led the team in goals and tied for the team lead in points during season 31. Laing's 139 career points are tied with Conall Macleod for the most by a Raider who played 3 seasons or less with the team. Laing was not a one dimensional player, Laing was a power forward who other teams could not contain. Reed was always above 100 hits and played in all situations for the team.

Congratulations GroupMeIsKindOfOkay !

Toivo Kosonen
Defenseman/General Manager

Probably the best defenseman to ever lace up the skates for the Raiders, Toivo Kosonen was a huge addition for the organization from the season 30 draft. Management didn't have much information on Kosonen entering the draft, but he was a Finnish defenseman so they knew he must be good! Good is an understatement. Kosonen was incredible during his final two seasons in Halifax and was arguably the best SMJHL defenseman for those two seasons.
Kosonen went out in style, scoring 20 goals and registering 55 points. Toivo scored 19 goals the season before. Kosonen's 42 goals with the Raiders are the most by a defenseman in franchise history. Kosonen would become the Raiders captain for season 32 and the team enjoyed their most successful regular season ever, winning 36 games and the Presidents trophy. Toivo would spend one season as the teams co general manager before moving on to the same role with the New England Wolfpack. MennäänPojat!

Congratulations Toivo !
