The St. Louis Scarecrows mounted a strong comeback against the Falcons after facing a 2-0 series deficit, but ultimately fell short as Detroit dispatched them in a well fought Game 7 at Little Caesars Arena yesterday. Scarecrows co-Captain Tigole Bitties, in his third and final season of his Juniors career played his last game in a St. Louis uniform with the C on his chest. It wasn’t how he wanted his last game to go down, but you can’t rewrite the past as the ink is dry. He enjoyed every moment of playing with the St. Louis Scarecrows in front of the best fans in the SMJHL and sharing the ice with the best teammates and fellow players that he would call friends. It’s a bittersweet moment for Bitties as he’s taking the leap to a prominent role with the upstart Edmonton Blizzard, and taking a few of his St. Louis Scarecrows teammates with him.

Joe & Ryan – Thanks for drafting me way back when. I know we were poised for great things then and I hoped that during the transition with TDZ and I we could help get you back to being on the cusp or actually pulling it all off. I’m sorry it couldn’t work out that way. I wish you two nothing but the best with managing the Crows and hope the next wave can accomplish what I couldn’t for you. You guys are a fantastic management team and one of the best I have had the pleasure of playing for.

Dizzy – You weren’t on the squad this season as you had graduated to Seattle, but you were still a very active part of the LR and practically were an assistant GM that watched high above the ice on a daily basis. You were there to guide the rookies and were loyal to the Crows the entire time. Thanks for what you did for the franchise and being a good guy to talk to during my time with the Crows.

Roman Augustus – You and I both have strong personalities but we were together shoulder to shoulder throughout our three seasons together. It was nice to have someone to bitch to, to laugh with, and to celebrate with during the good times with St. Louis. You’ll be headed off to Calgary now and we’ll be pretty big parts of the Battle of Alberta I assume. Keep your head up, and I look forward to meeting you after games for some brews. Cheers bud, nothing but respect.

Joseph Lombardi – I picked on you a lot on the locker room and sometimes I know it was a bit much. You are like the annoying little brother but I grew to kind of enjoy your personality in the locker room. It was a pleasure being on your team and you’ll be a star in the SHL one day if you keep working hard. Good luck with San Francisco and I’ll see you in the ice pal.

Johnny Yuma – You have improved rapidly and your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. I know you’ve had some tumultuous games in your first two seasons but you’re going to do great as you continue to develop in St. Louis, unless Seattle wants to ruin your fun and call you up entirely too early. You’re a good dude and it’s always fun to chat hockey with you especially when we can commiserate about the Bs.

Logan Jensen – You’re a great prospect and primed to compete for the SMJHL scoring title next season. A lot of the pressure falls on your shoulders now with much of St. Louis’ top six graduating to the SHL. Work hard and represent the Scarecrows franchise well, you’re part of the next wave. Good luck pal.

Joakim Lindqvist – You were an awesome addition to the squad and gave us much more depth down the middle when we needed it most. You were great in the room as well. I don’t know if you’re going up or staying down, but it was a pleasure to work with you during practice at the faceoff dot. Keep your stick on the ice bud!

Nour Harrak – Your enthusiasm and happiness is contagious. When I heard we acquired you I was so excited and felt that we were a shoo-in for the Four Star Cup. Unfortunately for one reason or another Bitties never really clicked as well as I would’ve liked with Harrak and we weren’t able to develop that dominant chemistry. Best of luck in Hamilton as I am assuming you’re getting the call up. Where’s my recruiting TPE?

Anuj Radia – You’re the new Blues in my opinion. A great rookie that’s very vocal and wants to improve. Sometimes too vocal, but you’re going to do great with the Scarecrows next season with a bigger role. Stop talking to Samee so much and it’ll go a long way. Just kidding pal.

Bobby Watson – You were an absolute pleasure as a teammate and you’re destined to be a very early selection in this upcoming SHL draft in my opinion. You’re going to be in the trenches for St. Louis next year so keep working hard and reach that cap ASAP for Joe and Ryan. I’ll see you at the draft!

Elias Petersson – Thanks for being around Wiki, you’re always good for a laugh when everyone is being too serious. Keep being you bud. Good luck.

The Dude – What a playoff bud! Your player went beast mode! Looks like you’re primed for a defenseman of the year contending season next year with the Crows. Keep the medal to the metal and you’ll be dominant next year, the next Roman Augustus. Good luck at the draft!

Dermot Lavelle – Another one of the great rookie crop that we had with the Crows this season. He didn’t know a lick about hockey and it was hilarious watching him struggle to skate during his first practice with us. But damn, he worked hard and was one of the most improved players by the time Bitties laced up the skates the last time for the Crows. You’ll do well in this league Lavelle.

Now, for these next two they’re not quite done with me yet. I’m looking forward to sharing the journey ahead of us as we try to right the ship that’s already 95% submerged with the Blizzard. We have a monumental task in front of us and with the difficulty that faces us, an outstanding opportunity to carve our names into the annals of Blizzard history as the youth movement that brought a once historic franchise back to superiority.

Tor Tuck – You came on like a wildfire as soon as you joined the league. Like Lavelle, you knew next to nothing about hockey and spent more time in the box than on the ice. With time, you learned the game more and more and your skills improved. You’re one of the fastest improving players from your draft class and I know the Blizzard are delighted to have added a player of your caliber for the blue line for seasons to come. I’ll see you at training camp.

Teddy Cuddles – You’ve been an active part of rebuilding this team with Karl and I already and your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. I look forward to making the leap with you to Edmonton next season and seeing who can put together a better Jesster Trophy campaign. We’ll definitely have some competition out there next season, that’s for sure. Let’s do this!

Tigole Bitties is also available for questions regarding his SMJHL career, what’s next for him in Edmonton, or anything at all. I’d be happy to answer anything you’ve got, within reason.

Now some questions for my second favorite bruins fan (Cuddles is obviously first)

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif Edmonton looks really promising this season. Is a playoff spot in your future?

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif Who’s picking up the mantle from us in St. Louis?

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif Will the Pride suck this year?

1) Well, future is a very indeterminate word. I know at some point we'll return to the playoffs, it's a question of when. I think with the improvements we're going to make from a depth perspective we could sneak in as a low seed, but it's unlikely this year. Most likely next year.

2) Jensen, Dude, Watson, Lavelle, and a bunch more. They're going to do great.

3) I hope so.

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif #tigole___? what hastag will trend most next season?

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif With great depth at the center position Bitties will likely see a lot time on the wing in his first SHL season. Will it be a smooth transition?

http://i5.ifrm.com/14976/177/emo/reporter.gif With likely 7 call ups next season it's a good chance a lil' Blizzard could take home the jesster. who's your front runner?

1) #tigolegoal as Bitties races his way to the rookie scoring lead.

2) I can't imagine playing on the wing will be too difficult. Bitties has been developing more of a scoring touch and with an elite puck distributor like Scholz on his line he's bound to do well.

3) Well, selfish vote, Bitties. If I chose someone that's not named Bitties I'd have to go with Chiclets because of the raw minutes he'll be playing on that top pairing with Kikkoman.

I miss you Ace! Good luck in Edmonton

I always knew you liked me even though you always ribbed me about how the Flyers suck. Hopefully this friendship can continue on even though we aren’t teammates anymore

Best of luck in Edmonton man. But not too much luck http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/winking/winking0001.gif

It's been a blast in STL and while at first our personalities clashed I think we've grown to respect each other and create a lasting friendship. Thanks for the memories.
